Distraction in Action is a comic project that explores the lived experience of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It explores the lived experience of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) through a vibrant visual narrative. The storyline centers on a protagonist who struggles to focus on his thesis amid a constant flood of distracting elements, depicted as characters embodying internal urges and external interruptions. The project comprises several pages that form a booklet, alongside a series of illustrated 18 ” by 24” posters featuring pages from within the comic. The artwork is traditionally drawn and then edited and transformed through digital processes. Supported by research examining the neurological and cognitive aspects of ADHD, it highlights themes such as attention, motivation, and task management. The series aims to promote empathy and understanding for those navigating the complexities of ADHD, providing a visually captivating representation of how distractions affect productivity and mental health.
