New online program launched for internal grants, research awards and limited submission applications
¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Administration (ORSPA) has launched Competition Space, a new online program for electronic submission of proposals for internal research grants, research awards and limited submission applications. The site will allow LU faculty members to quickly identify internal funding opportunities such as the Research Enhancement Grant Program.
Using Competition Space, faculty will be able to apply for internal grant opportunities such as the Research Enhancement Grant Program, apply for internal research awards such as University Scholar, and submit proposals for “limited submission” competitions. The online program allows faculty to search all open competitions, keep track of proposal deadlines, view program-specific guidelines and instructions, download application materials, and submit proposals and obtain approvals electronically.
Opportunities administered by the ORSPA such as the REG program, University Scholar Award and limited submission proposals for external sponsors will be posted. The site will also be available for other campus groups and offices to host and administer competitions; contact the ORSPA for details.
Competition Space is one of a number of electronic research administrative programs that ORSPA is implementing during the spring and summer of 2016.
“We believe that implementing innovative online platforms like Competition Space will streamline the process of identifying and applying for funding opportunities by ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ faculty,” said Pete Kelleher, associate provost for research. The addition of these electronic research administration software tools should make it easier for faculty to achieve their research and creative activity goals. These tools also address a number of goals outlined in the ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ 2015 Strategic Plan, Kelleher said.
