Dance Team presents 'True Colors' in Spring Show
The ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ Dance Team will exhibit its skill and dedication at the 12th annual spring show, “True Colors,” at the Jefferson Theater, 345 Fannin St. in Beaumont on May 5 and 6 at 7 p.m.
Each year, the first act of the show demonstrates the previous year’s theme, and the second act presents the new year’s theme. This show’s first act recalls 2016’s topic, “In a Perfect World.”
“This year's performance is unique because we’ve taken a seemingly simple idea, color, and explored the profoundness of it. The show takes the audience on an exhilarating journey through the true artistry of color,” said Brixey Blankenship-Cozad, dance team coordinator.
The theme is based on the idea that color’s many interpretations and representations serve to amplify the power of expression and add deeper meaning to communication.
“There are so many places that color can take us, and that is what we wanted to illustrate in this show. The combination of the first act, ‘Perfect World’ with the new act ‘TRUE COLORS’ creates a program that embodies themes from our own lives and in the world,” said Blankenship-Cozad.
“This show genuinely represents each one of the girls on this team and everybody who contributed, myself included,” she said.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Jefferson Theatre the day of the show. Teams, schools, and studios are offered group rate tickets.
