Gladys City Announces Spring Class Schedule
Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown announces its popular class schedule for the spring. The classes include bladesmith, blacksmith, and photography. The prices range from $75 to $175, depending on the
class. A deposit of $50 holds a person’s space in a class. Classes begin at 10 A.M. on the scheduled day and students are able to bring home the item they made that day.
New this spring is an Elementary Blacksmith, Jr. class for kids aged 9-15. This class will be only $75 with a $50 deposit. The class will allow kids to get their hands dirty while making great items. It is scheduled for April 13 and only has room for 6 spots. Instructor Rob Flurry can be seen in a recent infomercial for Full Throttle Energy Drink ().

Director Troy Gray said, “We are always happy to see students learning at Gladys City. We are always seeing how to expand our class offerings such as introducing a new class for kids. ”
The photography classes are for students 13 and up, though a paying parent needs to be enrolled for students aged 13-16. Students need a DSLR camera and at least one lens. Students will learn how to take great pictures in natural lighting. Instructor Shannon Wright is the owner of MercyMae Photography.
Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown is a replica of the boomtown that grew up around the Spindletop oil fields in the early 1900's. The entrance fee is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for children under 12. Located on US 69 at Jimmy Simmons Blvd on ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ campus in Beaumont, the museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 10:00-5:00 and Sunday 1:00 – 5:00.
