Liv Haselbach, Ph.D.

Dr. Liv Haselbach is a licensed professional engineer and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer with a specialty in Environmental Sustainability. Prior to her academic career, she founded an engineering consulting company in the New York – Connecticut area.

Her degrees include a B.S. with Distinction in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Connecticut. 

She was previously at Washington State University for over 8 years, and before that at the University of South Carolina for 6 years, both in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Haselbach was an Associate Director of the USDOT Tier 1 UTC: Center for Environmentally Sustainable Transportation in Cold Climates (CESTiCC) and a Fulbright-ALCOA Distinguished Chair in the Environmental Sciences and Engineering. Her teaching and research focus on sustainable construction, low-impact development (especially pervious concrete), life cycle assessment, flood resiliency, sustainability education and environmental issues. 

Her son Marcus is a West Point graduate and a manager for KPMG. Her daughter Candace is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at The University of Tennessee and is married to Pat. Liv's other daughter Heidi is an engineer for Shell Oil and is married to Cory. She has four grandchildren: London, Liam, Jace and Lily.
