Alumni Affairs accepting applications for LU Ambassadors through March 4

¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ Ambassador application packets will be available until March 4, 2016, in the Office of Alumni Affairs, Suite 102, of the Rudy C. Williams Building, in the John Gray Center on the ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ campus.

“¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ Ambassadors represent the study body at official university functions,” said Shannon Copeland, director of alumni affairs and advancement services.  Individuals chosen to be “Lamar Ambassadors work to promote university pride among students, alumni and friends of the university; have a high level of involvement on campus; and are well informed about the university and what it has to offer students, alumni and the community.”

To apply for membership in the Lamar Ambassadors an applicant must:

  • Be a full time, officially registered ¿ìÉ«ÊÓƵ undergraduate student who has completed at least one semester at LU and will be classified as a sophomore or junior in the fall of 2016
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and maintain that GPA in order to retain membership in the organization
  • Submit an Ambassadors application including a letter of interest, transcript, faculty/staff recommendation, and resume
  • Have approval from his/her college dean
